Advanced Certificate in Computed Tomography 


The Associates Degree program in Radiologic Technology is a  24 month program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (http://www.jrcert.org). Upon completion of this program, the graduate is eligible for certification by the American Registry Radiologic Technologists. Upon passing this examination, graduates are entitled to use the abbreviation R.T. (registered technologist) after their names and to the privileges offered by this registration.


The Certificate in Computed Tomography prepares the post-graduate registered technologist to use x-rays and computed radiologic technology to produce cross-sectional anatomical images of the human body for diagnostic testing, radiation therapy treatment planning, and nuclear medicine PET scanning. Current certification as a radiologic technologist, radiation therapist, or nuclear medicine technologist (ARRT or NMTCB registered). State certification and/or licensure is required, if applicable.


The Computed Tomography program is a full-time, one-semester program designed for working professionals, consisting of online didactic courses and clinical site rotations facilitated by the student. Students contact their own local clinical sites in order to complete the exam competency portion required by the ARRT.  The program will assist with the affiliation contract once the student has obtained permission at the site.
