Presidential Address 2013

To all of the membership, committee members, sponsors, students and colleagues I want to thank everyone for their continued support of our Society. I hope that everyone who attended our 66^th Annual Meeting at Myrtle Beach truly enjoyed themselves and will plan on attending the event next year as well. Our participation this year was tremendous, the weather was beautiful, and the fellowship was truly remarkable.

Special thanks go out to the outgoing Board of Directors for all of their leadership and guidance over the past twelve months; it was an honor to work with such dedicated professionals. We started a journey over a year ago and have a strategic plan in place that should provide significant dividends for the future. I also look forward to working with our newly installed Board of Directors whose experience and expertise I will lean on heavily this year.

From a humble and personal perspective, it is a sincere honor to serve as your President this year. It has been a goal of mine for some twenty years and I could not be more proud than I am today to take on this responsibility. I honestly feel that this Society as a whole has the resources, the intellect, and the will power to become one of the finest in the country. As your elected leader, I will endeavor to strive that we continue to grow and develop as an organization with a voice; difference makers if you will. Hopefully, when our membership reflects on the upcoming year, it will be with fond memories and stories of success!

In closing, I would like to encourage any member to contact me directly if you have concerns or questions about the Society. My door is always open; all you need do is step through. Thank you again for allowing me to fulfill a dream of mine and it is my hope that everyone’s expectations are surpassed as we venture into this new year!
